It's Saturday...

Ohhhh, tomorrow is weigh-in...

Iced tea and maple scone, our morning ritual.
salad, salmon and 1/2 an orange
sugar free popcicles Some water and iced tea through the day.
Not much of an appitite, oh I had a couple handfuls of chocolate raisins at the movies. Gotta have chocolate once in a while when you crave it. ; ) The movie was "The Strangers", kinda scarey!!

yea, it's friday...

eww, but that means weigh in is in 2 days....YIKES!!!
Fiber one cereal and milk.
iced tea almonds and chips (I know, I am bad)
left over meat loaf and potatoes...
and no exercise because I am hooked on The Host"
the new book by Stephenie Meyer and I cannot put it down.
Yes, that means no housework is getting done, no laundry
and no good meals.



Like my grandma Fausett used to say: An apple a day keeps the doctor away!!!

TODAY...

Jamba juice: pomegranate heart defender
tuna sandwich, cheese, apple and pomegranate and cherry juice
handful of almonds
spaghetti for dinner, iced tea
sugar free popsicles

I also walked the stairs at Kaiser today, I climbed a total of 6 times. My legs don't seem to be as shakey as they were when I first started. yea me!!!
Oh, and I did drink my water, no milk though. I will have a glass right now.

for two days...


Yesterday
Starbucks: Iced tea and fiber bar
meat loaf, potatoes and green beans
garlic salmon, left over potato salad, corn on the cob and salad
I didn't drink very much water....yikes!!!
I also did the stairs at Kaiser, I did a total of six times. Yea me!!
Today
Starbucks: Iced tea and fiber bar
Met Cheri for lunch but I just had an acia berry healthy smoothie
Wendi took me out to dinner and I had a salad with grilled chicken and a chocolate fudge sundae shot (it was little). You know when you are ready to start you gotta have the chocolate. I am worried about the weigh in as it is that wonderful time of the month. Which means I also have the munchies Jenna. You just want to eat anything and everything. Yuck!!! How do you curb that????? As you can tell Pete and I have a little schedule, we either go to Starbucks or Peets and have a little drink and just spend some time together before he has to go to work.
I didn't have much water today either, so I am going to have some now!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to go work out in the garage as well...see ya!!!

Mom, this one is for you because I know you are in my corner. I have thought about you alot today and miss you terribly. I feel like you have been missing so much of my life. I know you would be so proud to be a great-granma again. Layla is beautiful and Jen is a great mom. Keep cheering Jen, Wendi and myself on as you know what we are going through. THIS IS NOT A DIET BUT A LIFESTYLE CHANGE!!

Not a good week...

I did not have a good weigh-in this morning, but it could have always been worse. I weighed 162, which means I gained 1 pound. So....next week I will have to work out more, run the stairs 3 or 4 times. I will also have to pay attentention to what I eat, which I will be posting each day next week. Matt...I cannot have anymore chocolate shakes with you. Wendi...no more pizza, I am glad American Idol is over so we don't have to party on Thursday. My goal for next week is to be in the 150's. I will keep my mom in my heart this week and hopefully she will be encouraging me. Whatever it takes!!!!!
Looks like Jen won this week, Wendi gained an oz. I might be old but I am going to give you a run for you money. The game is on!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha.

Boxing....

Last night after dinner I went out in the garage and punched for about 10 minutes. I know, I really need to work on my technique....
but it is fun and I am working up to punching longer.
I will eventually get it, if not Matt will I am sure teach me the correct way.
This is fun getting all your aggression out. Maybe I will have to try again today.

stairs...stairs...stairs

This morning Pete and I went to the Black Oak for breakfast. Pete loves breakfast, I can take it or leave it. We had a good visit before he had to go to work, we talked about going away for our 25th anniversary. YEAH!!! Okay, Pete went to work, I went out to Kaiser to climb the stairs. To get to each floor you have to climb a set of stairs with a landing in between. Then you can climb another half floor before they have a gate locked so you can't get to the roof.

I was standing on the landing between the 2nd and 3rd floor.
Not sure if I was on the 3rd or 2nd floor going down.
When I was done, Wendi called and wanted to meet for lunch. I met her at Tossed she had a salad and I had a big bowl of fruit. Yummy!!!


Yeah for tossed and fresh salads and fruit. Tonight we are having meatloaf. I can smell it now and I am getting hungry.

Today was my weigh in day, I gained 5 ounces. I knew if I had that cake it would come back to haunt me. I guess it could always be worse but I have been thinking about how I need to really be better as my sisters family did a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes. My niece Janae was diagnosed with JD when she was 6 and she is now going on 15. My mom also died of complications from Diabetes, she was robbed of time with her family. I am inspired by being a new grandma and of course my own children. I also think about when my husband had his heart attack and how scary that was. We have too much we want to do together to not take care of ourselves. I am setting a goal to lose at least 3lbs on my next weigh in to be back in the 150's. Here's to a good week.

Just the beginning...


Okay, I am doing this blog because my daughter just had a baby and she has inspired me. I also do not want to be an over weight, unhealthy grandma. I would like to be around to see Layla and my future grandchilden grow up.
After losing my own mother and her not being able to see Layla and my husband having a heart attack. It made me realize I needed to make some changes not only for myself but for my loved ones.
I love life and have so many things I would like to do with my husband, children and grandchildren.
So here goes the diet and exercise blog.
